I remember thinking, there has to be a better way to carry a baby then lugging around a carseat and stroller or strapping them to your front in what I now call a "crotch dangler".  Yes these carriers are hands free which is a plus but they are not very comfortable for the wearer or wearee and lets face it, they are UGLY!!!  The answer suddenly presented itself to me while at a mom and baby meeting when my son was only a few months old.  I saw someone in this BEAUTIFUL wrap that reminded me of my stretchy wrap but was GORGEOUS and looked so much more secure.  After inquiring, I learned that it was a woven wrap and that I should join the local babywearing group.  Babywearing group? What?

Well I joined and tried a woven and long story short, I am OBSESSED!  There are so many different brands and styles and patterns and colors and feels and weaves and...and...and the list goes on.  While, a little tricky to figure out at first, they are amazing :-)

My first woven was a Didymos silk pfau, gorgeous and thin and lovely.  My current "stash" consists of a Didymos, a Little Frog, Oscha, and two Pavo Textiles wraps.  I also have 3 ring slings (Little Frog, 2 Pavo).

Why do I need more than one? Well, it's a little hard to explain to someone who doesn't wrap, but they best way I could put it is, you need one in different lengths for different carries from simple to complex.  Also, I may have mentioned before, these wraps are beautiful and they become a little addictive (understatement of the year).  I am still trying to explain to my husband why I need so many, but I find that the best way to explain is to have him wrap our son Rhett.  When he experiences the comfort of the wrap and how content our little guy is while carried close and secure, I think it becomes more clear why I will never EVER use a "crotch dangler" again.  I do own a buckle carrier, but that is a whole new blog ;-)
This is my recently acquired Didymos Lime Hemp Pfau dyed kelly green. It's love <3
